1 Purpose, 2 Different Ways

First
Suatu hari, seorang pegawai tata usaha (B) didatangi seseorang (A) yang ujug3 langsung bertanya :
A : Bapak muslim, ga?
B : (kaget) Kenapa atuh neng kalau bapak muslim?
A : Kalau bapak muslim saya mau ngasih salam buat bapak
B : … (speechless)

Second
Dua orang yang baru kenal tapi belum pernah bertemu chat melalui layanan instant messaging.
A : Hi, salam kenal. Aku A yang di ** itu lho…
B : Hai juga….
Keduanya kemudian chat kesana kemari ga jelas tujuannya apa. Trus tiba2 si A bertanya :
A : Eh, maaf sebelumnya. Kamu muslim?
B : Iya
A : Assalamualaikum
B : Waalaikumsalam
A : Tadi masih ragu makanya pakai ‘hi’ dulu
B : Ooo…

Both dialog actually happenned and experienced by people that I know. Those two dialog have the same purpose, to make sure that the person that he/she talking to is a moslem so that he/she can say ‘Assalamualaikum’ to the right person.
Compare those 2 dialog. If you are B in the first dialog, how would you feel? And how would you feel if you are B in the second dialog?

I guess, good purpose is important but just not enough. Good purpose achieved through the wrong ways will not do us any good. On the other hand, good purpose achieved through the right ways will certainly be nice.
